The wedge tool is ideal for replacing 3/4″ and 1″ water services quickly and easily at a fraction of the cost of conventional methods. No special equipment is required. Simply feed the aircraft cable (available separately) through the existing line and then pull the wedge through using a backhoe, truck, or winch.
Two different styles of wedges are available, one with a single cutting edge for splitting copper lines and one with a triple cutting edge design for splitting PE lines.
Using the tool for trenchless service line replacement minimizes property damage and street disturbance. It can also pull out lead and galvanized lines.
The wedges are sold individually or as part of a kit. The kit includes copper pipe connectors, PE pipe pullers, a pulling grip, and aircraft cables.
